It wouldn’t be a new day without Square Enix announcing one of their games is getting delayed. You almost have to see an announced release date for a Square Enix title as more of a suggestion of possible release than any firm confirmation.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake was supposed to drop on March 3, but not the title is being pushed back into April. This is meant to put a few finishing touches on whatever this remake has become at this point.
“We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience,” Kitase said in a message from the studio. “I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer. Thank you for your patience and continued support.”
It should be noted that a full game won’t be released this April as this remake is being sold in episodic nature because Square fans all get nostalgia hard-ons and will throw their money away.
