Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, we consign Lawbreakers to the Earth’s crust. For the gravity-defying shooter truly is no more. Its servers are gone; its brain is cold.
Former senior environment artist Josh Rife confirmed the death date of the game via Twitter.
#lawbreakers servers are officially closed for good. Hardest development, and best game I ever shipped. If you played it, thank you.

He also tweeted out some concept art for an unreleased map they designed (though the tweet has been zapped from the internet). Called Valhalla, he had this to say about it:
[It was the] the craziest shit we ever put together. We basically said screw arbitrary limits to egregious vertical combat, and made the capture zones super vulnerable. Expert player map for sure.
There was an ArtStation link to the art, but that too has perished. It provided this description:
Valhalla was Bosskey’s 10th and final map for LawBreakers. Set in an abandoned Valkyrie training facility in California’s Sequoia Natl. Forest, Valhalla stands as a monument to dedication and perseverance.
This massive arena hosts all ranges of combat encounter types, including our longest sightlines, and most lethal Capture-The-Battery layout ever. The map was created for a themed, seasonal content drop, internally code-named ‘Bloody Christmas’, but was unfortunately never released to the public.
Well, Lawbreakers may be dead (trying to go to its Steam store page just loops you to the main page). But I doubt this is the last we’ll hear of Cliffy B. I give it 3-5 years before he’s doing stuff again.
