Recent Heroes of the Storm Trailer Might Have Teaser

Heroes of the Storm

Nobody knows!

Recently, Blizzard put out a trailer for a skin/rework event titled Viper Ascendant. It  gives Viper-themed skins to a number of heroes, including Ana, Genji, and Stukov, as well as a new mount.

The terrorist organization Viper wasn’t the only criminal paramilitary outfit that had desired to conquer the world, but they were the first to accomplish their sinister goals. Using unbelievable technological advances alongside ruthless tactics, they waged war on the world at large for two decades. Now, Viper serves as the united world government’s leadership and military arm, ensuring the populace remains complacent by stamping out insurrections wherever they might take root.

This is cool for a few reasons. For one, Stukov hasn’t had a new skin in a long time, and the same could probably be said about the others. For another, they’re obviously gunning for that G.I. Joe/Cobra thing, promising the heroic event later (don’t worry; Duke’s just in a coma from having a snake spear shoved through his heart).

Ahhh, I’ve missed you, Fensler Films.

But there’s something at the end that has everyone buzzing. Some unidentified character punches a screen, dislodging a picture of a little girl taped up near the monitor. And that sub-3-seconds of screen time on the character’s fist has everyone trying to figure out who it is. There are 3 possibilities swirling around right now:

  • Soldier 76 (from Overwatch, the current front runner)
  • Gabriel Tosh (Starcraft)
  • Samir Duran (Starcraft)

There’s also the picture to consider. Some think it’s a young Sombra or something. Others think it lends some credence to Samir. And there’s always the possibility that they’re in an event skin to match, too, making it  even more difficult to ID them.

Regardless of who it is, it’ll be a while until they’re formally announced. Whitemane’s  the next hero to come out, and this video was probably accelerated due to the leak of the skins a bit earlier. So whoever it is, we probably won’t know for around a month or so.
