Get pumped!
Guacamelee! was a damn fine Metroidvania game. So much so, that it’s definitely on the list of my favorite Metroidvanias, at the least. So you can imagine how happy I was to hear that Guacamelee! 2 is going to be an actual thing. And, yes, it’ll be heading to PC.
“Seven years after defeating Carlos Calaca, Juan Aguacate is forced to don his luchador mask again to face a new threat – this time to the very fabric of space and time. Punch your way through a whole new Metroid-vania style world and try to save the Mexiverse!”
The only downside is that there isn’t any sort of hard date. The trailer simply teases that the game will be coming soon-ish. And we also don’t know if it’ll be a simultaneous cross-platform release.
That said, there is one other surprise, in addition to the trailer. The original Guacamelee! is on sale on Steam, and you can get the complete package for $2. So if you haven’t played the original yet, it’ll surely tide you over until Guacamelee! 2 comes out. The sale lasts until April 13, so get on it.
