THQ Nordic and Nickelodeon team up to being back titles from the past

SpongeBob SquarePants, Tak and many other gaming hits will celebrate their comeback in 2018 and beyond

THQ Nordic and Nickelodeon today announced a new partnership to revive several game titles connected with Nickelodeon properties. Now, before you get super excited about reliving your past, just be aware that your past probably sucked.

I’m not saying this in a ageist way, my past sucked quite a bit too in terms of bad games, but Nickelodeon games are not the cream of the crop for any generation. Well, I hope they aren’t because that does not bode well for that particular generation. Let’s face facts and acknowledge that licensed games are mostly crap.

That said, there are a few titles here that people are sure to remember fondly. I know there’s s certain SpongeBob game that people really love, but that was well after my time playing games based on cartoons. And while I love Rocko’s Modern Life like no other show, the game was really boring.

The full list of game titles are:

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Back At The Barnyard
  • Catscratch
  • Danny Phantom
  • El Tigre
  • Invader Zim
  • Jimmy Neutron
  • My Life As A Teenage Robot
  • Rocket Power
  • Rocko’s Modern Life
  • Rugrats
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Tak And The Power Of JUJU
  • The Fairly OddParents (US only)
  • The Ren & Stimpy Show
  • The Wild Thornberrys

“The appetite for Nickelodeon content old and new continues to grow and it’s exciting to bring our beloved content to new audiences through this partnership with THQ Nordic,” said Jon Roman, Senior Vice President, Toys, Nickelodeon. “These titles were popular when they were first released and we can’t wait for fans around the world to rediscover their favorites.”

On-shelf availability will be announced in the coming months, but we have a feeling only the biggest sellers will see boxed copies, without most titles heading to the download isle.
