A Jurassic World Version of Pokémon Go is On its Way

Must go faster.

Look, there’s never been a time where dinosaurs weren’t cool, especially to kids. You had cool dinosaurs in the 80’s, cool dinosaurs in the 90’s, and so on. And noting really traded in on that like the film of the book, Jurassic Park. And, while Jurassic World wasn’t quite as good as the original, I’d argue it was much better than the preceding sequels.

And on that note, a Pokémon Go-like Jurassic World game is coming to smartphones. The game is by Ludia and is titled Jurassic World Alive. It has you roaming around your city, looking for dinosaurs to catch. You can also extract their DNA and breed your own crazy hybrid dinosaurs, because I’m pretty sure B.D. Wong was playing a good guy in Jurassic World. You know, by playing God more than the old man did by trying to make a theme park out of ancient creatures in the original movie.

With Jurassic World Alive, our goal is for audiences to be fully immersed into a world with living dinosaurs in a way that’s never been possible until today. We’re giving them the opportunity to explore and connect with likeminded players while building and interacting with these powerful prehistoric species.

– CEO of Ludia, Alex Thabet, via a press release

The game will be available on both iOS and Android. And its release will be just a bit ahead of the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. on June 22.
