Josh Brolin Has Nabbed The Role of Cable in Deadpool 2

Josh Brolin has come out of left field and landed the highly anticipated role of Cable in the upcoming sequel to Deadpool 2. This was a hotly contested role that saw a ton of huge names tossed around including the likes of Russell Crowe, Brand Pitt, Michael Shannon and others.

As most of you are already aware, Brolin is already has another major Marvel role under his belt as he currently plays Thanos, the villain that all the Avengers films have been leasing up too. So it’s a little weird to see him in these dual roles in the Marvel Universe.

That said, Deadpool resides in the Fox portion of the Marvel spectrum. Think of it like an alternate earth where the characters exist. It actually makes perfect sense if you read comics.

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Brolin has signed on for a four picture deal with Fox to play Cable, so we can expect to see a lot of him (and Deadpool) in the future.

This brings up the question if Brolin and his turn as Thanos is a one and done sort of thing like with most MCU villains that aren’t named Loki. Only time will tell.

Deadpool 2 begins shooting in Vancouver this June.
