After three years of development, Squarriors The Card Game, based on the hit indie-comic, Squarriors, is live on Kickstarter. The project has only been up a short time and it’s a;ready a successful crowdfunding campaign! Squarriors TCG is a tabletop card game developed by the indie game company Cold War Incorporated. It features the licensed work of the Squarriors comic book series created by Ash Maczko and Ashley Witter, which centers around several clans of animals living in a world recently voided of humans:

“Squarriors is a comic book serial that centers around several clans of animals living in a world recently voided of humans. Since the demise of humanity, the remaining animal life on the planet have become intelligent.

The sudden spark of rational thought creates an internal struggle for these creatures; instinct versus reason. Animals of all species find themselves creating tribes and societies-each with their own beliefs, leaders, laws, and even armies.

Some are working to be civilized while others embrace the barbaric ways of their ancestors. The clashing of these ideas erupts into ultra-violent wars across the planet. The remaining question, what did the humans do to result in their extinction? And how can the new inhabiting civilization avoid the same fate?”

To make it more interesting, the game has no deck of cards to draw from, as all of your cards start in play or in your hand. Squarriors TCG offers many different ways to attack or undermine your opponent, including:

• Stealth Attacks: Use your spies and assassins to infiltrate the enemy and kill high valued targets.
• Manipulation Attacks: Use cunning and persuasion to convince creatures of another tribe to join you.
• Dominance Attacks: Send in a full army to demolish your enemy.
• Leadership Challenges: Weaken your opponent’s Morale, Influence, or Discipline by a display of leadership and will.

All cards in Squarriors TCG have multiple purposes. One example are Tactic Cards. After they have been played, have additional function when added to your strategy chains. Management of your strategy chains is a key part of winning.
