Generation Zero #7 – Review

This is getting much harder each time, Valiant! I don’t know what else to say other than this has been another amazing issue of Generation Zero. I expected it, and honestly, I’m not surprised we got what we did. Generation Zero #7 has proven that there are still many surprises the team behind the book have up their sleeves..

Generation Zero #7 Review
Valiant

Generation Zero #7 is a very entertaining and fast read. Everything is easy to follow, and despite there being nothing really new, I’m still thankful that the team kept the same quality in both art and story. There are times when more of the same can get a bit boring, but with the quality being so high more of the same becomes a compliment.

The thing that I really enjoy is that all of the characters in the book have become more real and human than ever before. Generation Zero #7 gives a new meaning to dying from being lonely. I’ll never see twins the same way after this issue. I’m not going to spoil the moment but read it and you’ll know why I feel that way.

Also, the ending scene made me think about a certain famous girls cartoon I used to see once in a while when I was a kid. Again, read this issue and you’ll understand what I’m talking about, as I’m egocentric enough not to explicitly spill the beans here and keep my pride untouched.

This time, in Generation Zero #7 has more dark tones that flow throughout the book. In order to match the script and structure, there’s a slight balance issue between the art and coloring art times, but it all works in the end. This issue is something darker, more mysterious and even poetic in a visual sense.

The shadows play a more than obvious role this time around. Because of this, adding a gothic look and creepy environment help get the reader immersed in the story. Generation Zero as a series has a certain way of really drawing the reader in. The inks and the coloring have the same quality and impact as well and helps everything come together beautifully.

There were some ideas in early issues of this comic series that are begining to develop that you can spot if you have been following along which is nice. Despite the fact that there aren’t many surprises this time around, Generation Zero #7 is still a great read and still one of the best comic books in recent memory.
