Blizzard didn’t waste any time announcing their newest Overwatch hero Sombra during the BlizzCon 2016 opening ceremonies. Sombra is billed as a “stealthy offensive infiltrator” who can “hack enemy abilities.”
Her full list of abilities include:
MACHINE PISTOL
Sombra’s fully-automatic machine pistol fires in a short-range spread.
HACK
Sombra hacks enemies to temporarily stop them from using their abilities, or hacks first aid kits to make them useless to her opponents.
THERMOPTIC CAMO
Sombra becomes invisible for a short period of time, during which her speed is boosted considerably. Attacking, using offensive abilities, or taking damage disables her camouflage.
TRANSLOCATOR
Sombra tosses out a translocator beacon. She can instantly return to the beacon’s location while it is active (including when it’s in mid-flight).
EMP
Sombra discharges electromagnetic energy in a wide radius, destroying enemy barriers and shields and hacking all opponents caught in the blast.
Along with the announcement we also learned that we will be getting a pair of new maps in Ecopoint: Antarctica and Oasis. The new maps are laid out for 1v1 and 3v3 style play. If those numbers sound weird, well, they should because the maps are part of the new “Arcade” mode.
Sombra, along with t Ecopoint: Antartica will roll out next week someime, while Oasis will release sometime this December.
