Fictorum Kickstarter Reaches Goals with Two Days Remaining

SEATTLE, July 20, 2016—Scraping Bottom Games has successfully reached their funding goal for their Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/scrapingbottomgames/fictorum-become-a-powerful-mage ) for their upcoming game Fictorum: an action RPG where you play as a wizard with access to legendary magic. The crowdfunding campaign is set to last until Friday, July 22 and has currently received over $25,000.

The player becomes a powerful wizard of a forbidden magical order, the Fictorum, with the unique ability to shape and master all schools of magic. Stretching the limits of their power, they have survived their own execution at the hands of the Inquisition, a sprawling theocratic empire bent on eradicating all Fictorum. As the last of the order, the player must shatter the Inquisition as vengeance for their exterminated brethren, as well as anyone else who dares to stand in their path.

Fictorum has received a substantial amount of interest over the last year; the project has gone viral with several reddit and imgur (http://imgur.com/gallery/HSik8d1 http://imgur.com/gallery/tpWAAxT http://imgur.com/gallery/lcTGFX5) posts over the course of its campaign featuring several spells and features in-game, some of which have received over half a million views.

“I am tremendously thankful for all of our supporters that have helped us along the way and have ultimately gotten us to where we are. Thank you, thank you so much,” said Chip Flory, lead developer at Scraping Bottom Games. “Our team is delighted and we cannot wait to get back to work.”

About Scraping Bottom Games

Scraping Bottom Games is the brainchild of Chip Flory and Greg Curran, two high school buddies turned college roommates turned longtime friends. Fictorum is the company’s first project, which came to be in March of 2015, shortly after the announcement from Epic that the Unreal Engine is now free to use. After a decade of playing games together, Greg mentioned to Chip that he wanted to try making video games instead of just playing them, and so the project began.
