Nintendo’s First Mobile Game Mitomo Releases This Week

Mitomo

Mitomo launched in Japan on March 17th alongside the new My Nintendo rewards program. It’s fair to say that the game has been a success as it has already been downloaded over 1 million times, making it the number one downloaded game/app in the region.

The game/app is a social sort of experience that lets users have conversations with friends using customized Mii characters. There are of course in-app purchases with the game, but it is completely free-to-start, so those people with good impulse control should be okay here.

Mitomo will allow players to create their own Mii with the included tools, or choose to take a selfie and let the game build one for you. Those with current 3DS/Wii U systems also have the ability to import their current Mii using a simple QR code.

The game then allows you to add friends from around the world who also have the app, along with linking you up to both Facebook and Twitter for complete domination social integration. It’s a simple concept, but since people love these chat application, Mitomo has a real chance of doing well while promoting the Nintendo brand to new users. There is also a really creepy voice feature that will give your friends nightmares.
