We now have official word that The Flash and Supergirl are crossing over this March. Barry Allen will be making his way to National City to probably butt heads, and then be friends with Supergirl. It’s probably the closest we will get to a Justice League like team-up for the DC Television universe.
While Supergirl is over on CBS, it is helmed by the same creative team as The Flash and Arrow over on The CW. While Warner owns all these properties, including Gotham, getting networks to play nice is always a challenge. This team-up only makes sense, as The Flash is doing well and comic fans love crossovers, so odds are they will follow our favorite speedster to CBS for that evening.
Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg said the following on the crossover,
We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl — The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!” the statement reads. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.
The Flash and Supergirl crossover event goes down Monday, March 28.
