Have you heard of The Hateful Eight? It was supposed to be Tarantino’s follow-up to Django Unchained, but then some dickhead leaked the script, causing Tarantino to take his ball and go home. He announced a lawsuit against Gawker, and said production of the film would not move forward.
But if you live in LA and have $200, you can still see The Hateful Eight! Kinda! Variety is reporting that Tarantino will host a staged reading of the script at LACMA on April 24. Members of Film Independent, LACMA Film Club, and the New York Time Film Club can purchase tickets starting April 9; the rest of us have to wait until the 16th.
It’s also being reported that Tarantino is spearheading every aspect of the reading, including what actors will read what parts, so be on the lookout for Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Michael Parks, and probably Tarantino himself (Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, and Tim Roth were also said to be interested in the movie).

The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, trapping a pitiless and mistrustful group, which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.
Goddamn, that sounds good. Hopefully the reading goes so well that Tarantino will move ahead with filming.
