Amazon introduces their $50 Fire tablet

These prices are so they they’re practically giving them away!

Amazon has just announced their latest addition to the Fire line of tablets. This new 7-inch tablet is priced to compete at the entry-level market, and is a fantastic alternative to those no name generic tablets that you find in drugstores and during Black Friday Door Buster sales.

Priced at $49.99, this new Kindle Fire is a steal, especially when you consider all the free apps that Amazon Underground offers up. Sure, Amazon is going to take a loss on the hardware sign of things with this one, but the idea is that once you are using the Fire, you’ll start spending money through the integrated Amazon interface.

This new Fire features an IPS display with wide viewing angle. It’s also powered under the hood with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and includes, 1GB of RAM with 8GB of storage. That’s a pretty paltry amount of space, but the Fire comes with a microSD card slot so you can easily upgrade your storage capacity when the time comes up to 128GB.

Amazon is also doing the crazy thing of selling a six-pack of the Fire for $250. Yeah, you are buying five tablets and getting the sixth one free. If you have a big family, this is one heck of a nice early Christmas present to score for the clan.
