Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today released the first trailer for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, the first console videogame featuring characters and storylines from the critically-acclaimed film Marvel’s The Avengers and the blockbuster sequel Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Play as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in their quest to save the world while reliving some of the most amazing moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the famed Battle of New York between the Avengers and Super Villain Loki as seen in Marvel’s The Avengers.
While this announcement sound pretty good on paper, the problem comes up since we already had an excellent Marvel Super Heroes Lego game come out last year. I know that this is just recycling the story from the first, and presumably second, film in the Avengers series, but I can’t help feel like we are treading old ground.
Seems to me like they are just reusing all the assets from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, stripping out all the extra characters and content, and throwing a game together. Still, if they can somehow manage to get the film’s star to voice the characters we might have a nice romp. I only hope that this one isn’t a fully priced title, otherwise I’d just recommended you play the excellent LEGO Marvel Super Heroes instead.
