The demo for Neon Inferno is available now on Steam
Retroware and Zenovia Interactive have just dropped the Steam demo for Neon Inferno, a high-octane gallery shooter dripping with cyberpunk style. The game, a collaboration between the two studios, is set to turn heads with its fast-paced action and retro-inspired gameplay.
Mark your calendars—Neon Inferno will also be part of Steam’s Couch Co-Op Fest, running from February 10 to 17. The full game is slated to launch on all platforms in Q3 2025, so this demo is your first chance to dive into its neon-soaked world.
The demo offers a complete level to explore, complete with local co-op and Steam Remote Play support. Feeling brave? Test your skills in the punishing 1-credit Arcade Mode, or tweak the difficulty and settings to suit your playstyle.
Drawing inspiration from classics like Contra and Wild Guns, Neon Inferno layers its action across the foreground and background, pitting players against waves of enemies and towering bosses. Set in a dystopian New York City in 2055, the game follows two protagonists, Angelo and Mariana, as they battle for a rising crime family caught in a power struggle against a corrupt NYPD and rival syndicates.
One of the game’s standout features is its “Bullet Time” mechanic, allowing players to deflect enemy projectiles—no matter where they’re positioned on the screen. Between missions, you can upgrade your arsenal and tailor your approach to each challenge. With multiple difficulty options, an Arcade Mode, and two-player co-op, Neon Inferno gives you the freedom to tackle its missions your way.
Gear up, grab a friend, and get ready to light up the neon-lit streets of 2055. The future has never looked so explosive.
