After 25 years Skies Of Arcadia might be coming back!
As of late it seems that Sega has been on a mission to finally revive a number of its old classic that they keep in a vault locked away. You might remember a little over a year ago the company announced that it plans on reviving a number of well loved but long dormant franchises including Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Virtua Fighter (which we saw at CES 2025) and more.
It’s nice to finally see Sega taking some chances and not simply releasing another Sonic the Hedgehog game of varying quality. The trademark itself (via Gematsu) was filed on January 16th of 2025, so don’t expect anything to come of it soon outside a possible remastering, something that has never happened on any platform following 2002. I actually have the original Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast and outside of the insane level of random encounters, love the game for its unique style and setting.
Sega has yet to confirm anything regarding Skies Of Arcadia, but at least fans of the game now have something to hold onto.
