SEGA Shows Off Pre-Development Footage Of Virtua Fighter At CES 2025

Virtua Fighter

Almost 20 years without a new game…

SEGA surprised everyone at CES 2025 by unveiling a new Virtua Fighter game. Significant, as this will be the first new Virtua Fighter game since 2006. But that’s not the most notable thing…

RGG Studio will be working on this one, and the sharp-eyed might notice a few movements that look familiar in the brief look we got (that is, by the way, a good thing). More importantly, it may be a bit of a tipoff that certain guests might just make an appearance (please!)…

Having Virtua Fighter back is a big deal, though. It kicked off the 3D fighter as a genre back in the day, yet hasn’t had a new installment since 2006’s Virtua Fighter 5. While 5 did see a port to PS4 later on, it’s not quite the same as a new game. So everyone is looking forward to what RGG Studio is going to do with the IP.
