Apple Introduces New MacBook; Removes All Ports…

MacBook

The MacBook has been around for a long time now and aside from the MacBook Air, the powerful little laptop hasn’t seen much of a fundamental change -Until now. The new MacBook is incredibly tiny when compared to its predecessors. And by predecessors I mean Macbook Air. I’m not kidding when I say that this new MacBook makes the Air look tiny. While that’s pretty impressive of itself, it isn’t what makes this MacBook a game changer (good or bad, we are on the fence). This new MacBook is only sporting aingle USB-C port that Apple is saying will do everything. Charging, sending video, data transfer, aux inputs, you name it!

While the idea makes sense from an aesthetic point of view, it is a lot less impressive from a functionality point of view. You now won;t be able to hook up your iPhone to charge it from your MacBook because the laptop’s charge port is now integrated into the USB-C port.  You also won’t be able to connect to a monitor and external keyboard at the same time either. The idea is cool, but it seems to me that this is just a quick way to score some extra money by having Apple sell you one of their overprices USB Hubs. Sigh… Apple, you are dangerously close to no longer being a tech company, and instead just becoming a full-blown art design firm.
