The news came out last week that Lenovo has been bundling some nasty Adware via Superfish on its consumer PCs. The application could lead to system security breaches on users machines and cause all sorts of nasty problems. Lenovo originally said that Superfish wasn’t adware, but after they were confronted with the facts they issued an apology to user. Lenovo has also vowed that it would remove Superfish from all future machines and has even provided a tool to remove the program on PCs affected.
That would have been the end of things, but the hacker group known as Lizard Squad is striking back at Lenovo for its slow and lax approach to dealing with Superfish. As of the time of this writing (2pm Pacific) Lenovo.com is not showing the company website. instead, the site is showing a slideshow of teenagers with the song “Breaking Free” playing throughout. You can check out a still that we captured below.
