Banjo-Kazooie Hits Switch Online; Rare Celebrates

Banjo-Kazooie

Chewie Kazooie, we’re home.”

This week saw the addition of Banjo-Kazooie to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass. It’s a big deal, since Rare has been owned by Microsoft for the past ~20 years. And, in a mood for celebration, Rare, Ltd. put out the following tweet:

Banjo-Kazooie

The good news is, it’s entirely possible Banjo-Tooie will hit the service at some point. The bad news is, there hasn’t been a new game since 2008’s Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. And if I were to take a stab in the dark, there probably won’t be.

As for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass, Nintendo’s slowly rolling out fixes to the N64 games on the platform. The Dark Link room in Ocarina of Time is supposedly fixed… to whatever extent it’s fixed. I still find the sticker price for the service a bit high for access a bunch of over 2 decade old games, but to the people that are happy with it,well, they’re happy with it.
