So, Terrible Posture Games’ 3 out of 10 bills itself as a playable sitcom. And, it’s just come out on the Switch. So, naturally, you’d be wondering how it fared in the porting.

And the answer is pretty dang good. Everything looks, at least to my eye, just as good as it does on PC. Which is good, as the models and sprites are a big part of its aesthetic. It does after all bill itself as a playable sitcom. As such, I’m not going over the story, as that’s the largest part of its draw (though not the only part). I will, however, say that you definitely need to give it more than the first episode to draw you in.

Notably, they assembled quite the voice cast. They really do breathe some definite life into the characters, too. Though I’d argue that they really hit their stride in episode 2. As a matter of fact, that’s probably true for most of the game, in general.

Since it’s something of an adventure game, there is stuff for you to do. Namely, as you progress through an episode, you’ll have these sorts of genre shifting moments, like a first person section, or having to drive a car under certain strict conditions. The nice thing about this is that, due to their decision to make this a game whose story can be enjoyed regardless of skill level, you don’t need to do a great job to progress further. You can completely fail and even skip these segments if you want, without impacting the end of the episode (though it does affect your score). This is actually a good thing, as I personally feel they’re not all made equal. Some are harder than others, and not necessarily due to the shift in genre.

So overall, I’d say that 3 out of 10 is a good port on the Switch. Though I’ll admit that the load times when starting an episode are way, way too long. Might be down to Switch hardware. I don’t know.

*There is, however, one somewhat glaring problem. While the content is just fine, I encountered a major issue with Episode 4. I started the episode for the first time, waited the nearly 2 minutes for it to load and then… it crashed. Figuring it was a fluke, I tried again, and got what I think is about 80% through the episode, the game crashed after Viper’s flamethrower sequence. Thinking it no biggie, I repeatedly tried to load my coninue point, only to have it encounter an error and crash again. Thinking I could just start it over and skip through to get back to where I was I reloaded the episode from the beginning, only to have it crash again and again. That was about the point I gave up on it. I’m not sure whether it was the game, or my Switch, but since the only other Switch game I’ve had crash like that was Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, I’m inclined to believe it’s the former rather than the latter.

*Note: There was a release day update, but I didn’t really have the time to check and see if it fixes things. Still, I imagine it’s possible you can ignore this entire paragraph

So do I recommend 3 out of 10 for the Switch? Yes, but with the proviso that you wait for it to see a patch of some kind. I’d argue it’s just a consequence of porting the game to the Switch, but it’s not exactly what I’d consider a minor issue. Which means it’ll probably get fixed quick.

Pros:

+ Great voice cast

+ Humorous story

+ Progress isn’t halted by inability to complete playable first-person/driving segments

Cons:

Some of those playable segments are probably more difficult than intended

*Crashing issue with Episode 4 (that will hopefully be patched)

Final Score:

Rating: 4 out of 5.
