Every network on television looks to be taking a stab a some sort of comic book property. Syfy channel is taking a stab with Wynonna Earp, based on the IDW comic series. The show follows the great-granddaughter of the legendary Wyatt Earp and is described as, “a fast-paced, contemporary thriller that follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern-day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice.”
I don’t know the book myself, but I’m happy knowing that is doesn’t have anything to do with zombies, so at least Syfy is taking chances on what I can only assume they figure is a female lead Supernatural style show. Still, the trailer does look intriguing, so it’s on my list of things to watch. Wynoona Earp stars Melanie Scrofano (RoboCop) as Wynoona Earp, with Tim Rozon (Being Human) as Doc Holliday, and Shamier Anderson (Constantine) as Agent Dolls.
